Movies Move Through Time But Never Change
Written By: Ella Collins

I think one of my most favorite parts about a film is the ability for it to move through through time, hundreds of years, or even thousands of years, yet still remain the same as the day it was first released, if not better. Adaptations or sequels may come about, but regardless of all that, the specific movie you are watching will still be the same movie whether you watch it ten days later or ten years later. There is a sort of comforting feeling to that. Life is crazy and chaotic. Sometimes it is good chaos and other times it is bad chaos. In recent months my life has been chaotic but not a good kind. I feel I have been living life in fast motion and not gotten a chance to rest, except for when I am in the theater watching a movie of course. It has always been extremely comforting to me knowing that no matter who I become or what my life becomes I can always back to that movie, no matter how far in the future, watch it and know that it has not changed one bit. I like to think I adapt relatively well to change but sometimes you just need something in your life that is consistent, even if its just for two and a half hours. That is why I enjoy rewatching movies because that consistency is comforting. No matter what chaos is going in my life or in the world in general I can watch that film and immediately feel the same as I did when I first watched it if not better. It is a special feeling that films provide us with and one that should not be overlooked.
